6 самых необычных храмов Пафоса

В прошлых публикациях «Вестник Кипра» рассказал про необычные православные храмы Ларнаки и Лимассола. Теперь пришла очередь отправиться в путешествие к святыням Пафоса.

Церковь Панагии Теоскепасти (Church of Panagia Theoskepasti / Εκκλησία Παναγίας Θεοσκέπαστης)

Церковь Панагии Теоскепасти построена тысячу лет назад византийцами недалеко от пафосского порта. Храм находится на высокой каменной скале, которая когда-то была частью городской стены. Название Теоскепасти (хотя я бы называл церковь Феоскепасти) переводится как «укрытая Господом». Столь необычное название связано с легендой, согласно которой храм не пострадал от разрушительного нашествия арабов.

Если от восточных захватчиков церковь была спасена, то вот землетрясения стороной храм не обходили. Несколько раз природная стихия разрушала Панагию, и местным жителям приходилось заново отстраивать любимую церковь. Последний раз её возводили в 20-х годах XX века, а последний ремонт завершился всего 10 лет назад.

Отдельно стоит сказать про внутреннее убранство храма. В Панагии хранится икона Пресвятой Богородицы, к созданию которой якобы приложил руку сам Лука.

Церковь Панагии располагается на улице Panagias Theoskepastis в самом центре Пафоса.

Монастырь Святого Саввы (Monastery of St. Sava of Karonos / Ιερά Μονή Αγίου Σάββα Καρόνος)

Давайте ненадолго переместимся на восток Пафосского района, вглубь острова, подальше от моря. Здесь мы найдем несколько прекрасных храмов, один из которых – монастырь Святого Саввы. Он основан в начале XII века будущим митрополитом Пафоса святым Иоанном.

Монастырь по не понятным причинам забросили в начале прошлого столетия и с тех пор он лежит в руинах.

Впрочем, сама церковь в монастыре действует до сих пор. Каждое 5 декабря, в день святого Саввы, здесь проводится литургия.

Монастырь находится недалеко от деревни Prastio (Πραστιό). В «Гугл-Картах» он отмечен как Άγιος Σάββας της Κάρονος.

Монастырь Хрисороятисса (Chrysoroyiatissa Monastery / Μονή Χρυσορρογϊάτισσας)

В отличие от монастыря Святого Саввы, монастырь Хрисороятисса находится в хорошем состоянии. Располагается он на востоке от Пафоса, почти на границе с Никосийским районом.

Монастырь основан в XII веке, но был значительно перестроен в османское время. Храм знаменит тем, что его священнослужители открыто поддержали Греческую революцию 1821 года против турецкой администрации. За это настоятель монастыря был казнён.

При храме есть небольшой музей с религиозными артефактами и сохранившимся облачением священнослужителей за последние 400 лет.

Расположен монастырь в горах недалеко от деревушки Drymou (Δρύμου).

Третий монастырь в нашем списке, находящийся на самом востоке региона, – монастырь Святого Георгия.

Сегодня от храма осталась одна церковь, одиноко стоящая посреди высоких холмов. Как и в случае с монастырём Святого Саввы, в зимнее время храм утопает в дикой зелени, летом жёлтая степь вокруг его стен выглядит пустынно.
Монастырь Святого Георгия был основан, вероятнее всего, в конце XV века священнослужителями-беженцами из Константинополя. В церкви сохранились даже фрески начала XVII века! К сожалению, история существования монастыря была недолгой — храм работал всего 300 лет и в начале XIX столетия был заброшен.

Название Куманон (Κουμάνων, или, правильнее, Κομάνων) произошло от малоазийского города Команы, где умер Иоанн Златоуст, один из знаменитейших богословов христианства.

Монастырь Святого Георгия расположен возле реки Диаризос, к юго-востоку от деревушки Mesana (Μέσανα).

Пещера 318 Святых Отцов (Cave of 318 Fathers / Σπήλαιο 318 Πατέρων)

В 30 километрах от Пафоса находится небольшая часовня, выдолбленная в настоящей пещере. Святыня названа в честь 318 Святых Отцов, принявших участие в Первом Вселенском соборе. По местной легенде, здесь церковных деятелей и похоронили.

Первый Никейский собор проводился в 325 году, на заре христианской истории, поэтому единого и неоспоримого списка всех его участников у нас нет. Впрочем, история о том, что все 318 епископов были захоронены в этом месте, выглядит как местная выдумка.

Многие из тех, кто действительно присутствовал на этом соборе, умерли в тысячах километров от святыни. Естественно, никто бы не стал перевозить их прах в пещеру на Кипр, особенно в условиях, когда христианство ещё не имело столь сильной поддержки среди масс.

Однако вернёмся к нашей святыне. Церковь совсем небольшая, но очень интересная. Внутри неё находятся как старинные фрески, так и современные иконы. Большой молебен здесь проводится в пятое воскресенье после Пасхи. Именно в этот день принято вспоминать Святых Отцов.

Пещеру найти на картах довольно сложно. Она расположена около деревушки Πάνω Αχριμανδρίτα, которая не отмечена на «Гугл-Картах». Лучше всего вбить в навигаторе координаты 34.748753, 32.678286.

Часовня Святого Георгия в Анарите (Chapel of St George / Άγιος Γεώργιος στην Αναρίτα)

В деревушке Анарита, совсем недалеко от аэропорта Пафоса, стоят развалины часовни Святого Георгия. О ней знают многие местные жители, каждый день мимо него проезжают туристы, однако мало кто знает, что же это такое на самом деле. Судя по всему, эта святыня построена католическими верующими в так называемое франкское время, то есть во времена Кипрского королевства. Как и многие другие религиозные сооружения европейцев на острове, храм воздвигли из местного известняка.

Когда святыню забросили, сказать трудно. Вероятно, со времени турецкого вторжения или даже раньше. Сегодня в церкви под открытым небом — несколько современных православных икон, к которым поставить свечку приезжают местные жители.
Часовню Святого Георгия можно найти на «Гугл-Картах» под названием Chapel of St.George.
