Тента. Кипрская тайна неолитного периода

Проезжая по шоссе между Никосией и Лимассолом, путешественники могут увидеть на вершине холма неподалеку от Калавасоса огромную палатку. Под ней с 1976 по 1984 год проводились раскопки неолитного поселения. Это поселение было названо Тента. Кто населял его, откуда появились на Кипре его жители, куда и как они исчезли, пока остается загадкой. Однако новые находки позволяют ученым строить предположения.

Безусловно, древнейшими поселенцами – предположительно расцвет их цивилизации происходил 9.000 лет назад, это место было выбрано из соображений защиты. Кто совершал нападения на их жилища? Люди, а может, дикие звери? Поселение окружено массивной стеной и рвом. По мере того, как оно разрасталось, дома появились и за стеной, впоследствии пришлось выстроить стену вокруг них. Доктор Ян Тодд, возглавлявший раскопки, предполагает, что поселенцы пришли на Кипр из Северной Сирии. Поскольку они не знали, что ожидает их на новом месте, они выбрали возвышенное место, откуда открывался панорамный вид на несколько километров вокруг.

Интересно, что поселение близ Калавасоса очень напоминает то, что было найдено в Хирокитии. Правда, ученые расходятся во мнениях о возрасте этих двух цивилизаций. Основываясь на углеродном методе, многие считают, что хирокитийская цивилизация на целое тысячелетие старше Тенты. Другие утверждают, что они существовали примерно в одно и то же время. Доктор Тодд в связи с этим отмечает, что, когда речь идет о событиях такой давности, на углеродный метод полностью полагаться нельзя. Действительно, пока так и не ясно, имелись ли между этими двумя поселениями какие-то связи. Вместе с тем, что жилища обоих поселений обнаруживают внешнее сходство, есть и существенные различия. Жители Тенты также строили круглые дома с массивными прямоугольными колоннами внутри. Об их назначении ученые продолжают спорить. Некоторые предполагают, что они поддерживали крышу. Доктор Тодд высказывает оригинальное предположение о том, что они поддерживали деревянный настил, служивший полом помещения на втором этаже. Поскольку эти жилища были всего 2-25 метра в диаметре, логично предположить, что они могли иметь второй этаж, иначе они вряд бы могли вместить даже небольшую семью. Дома имели круглые, куполообразные и плоские крыши. Не все жилища имели одинаковые размеры, но все они построены по одному замыслу. Жители Тенты хоронили своих покойников часто прямо под полом своего дома. В то же время найдены захоронения в стороне от домов. Почему, пока также непонятно.
Археологи сходятся во мнении, что Тента была маленькой, но процветающей деревней. Найденные кости овец и коз говорят о том, что ее жители разводили мелкий скот, а зерна пшеницы и ячменя указывают на их занятия земледелием. В то время людям еще не было известно гончарное дело, люди пользовались каменными чашами и инструментами. Украшения изготавливались из камня и из кости.

И хотя Тента не так богата на археологические находки, как другие участки раскопок, то, что было найдено, заставляет археологов ломать голову. Так, найденные каменные сосуды и ножи изготовлены из вулканического минерала обсидиана. Анализ показал, что этот минерал мог быть найден только в южных районах Центральной Турции, в Анатолии. Кстати, подобные изделия были найдены и во время других раскопок поселений неолитного периода на Кипре. Каким образом они попали сюда? Прямо, или через другие страны, к примеру, через Сирию?
Другой загадкой цивилизации Тенты остается то, почему ее жители покинули ее. Но ученые склоняются к тому, то деревня была именно оставлена жителями, причем мирно. Археологи сокрушаются по поводу того, что покидая поселение, древние люди практически не оставили после себя никаких следов. Похоже, что Тента и Хирокития были оставлены их жителями одновременно между пятым и четвертым тысячелетием и после этого весь Кипр оставался незаселенным в течение по крайней мере 500 лет. В конце Неолитического периода Тента была повторно заселена, и уже после этих пришельцев остались черепки примитивных гончарных сосудов.

Также, как и в Хирокитии, на самой вершине холма находилось строение больших размеров. Археологи склоняются к тому, что оно являлось жилищем старейшины поселения. Никаких доказательств того, что центральная постройка имела культовое назначение, не найдено.

Департамент Археологии, в ведении которого находится Тента, сейчас планирует в скором будущем открыть ее для посетителей.

Название «Тента» подходит этому месту не только потому, что сегодня этот участок защищается огромным брезентовым навесом, напоминающим палатку. В 327 году н.э. Елена, мать императора Константина, возвращаясь из Константинополя в Иерусалим, была вынуждена сделать остановку на Кипре, так как судно оказалось прибитым штормом к кипрским берегам. Она сошла на берег в южной части острова и ее шатер был разбит на вершине холма, который впоследствии стал местом раскопок неолитного поселения. Обозревая из своего шатра великолепные пейзажи острова, она мечтала построить здесь множество церквей.

    1            Application of terms

    3            Definitions

    In these Terms:

    Terms means these terms and conditions titled Terms and conditions of use

    Underlying System means any network, system, software, data or material that underlies or is connected to the Website

    You means you or, if clause 1.1b applies, both you and the other person on whose behalf you are acting.

     

    4            Your obligations

    4.1        You must provide true, current and complete information in your dealings with us and must promptly update that information as required so that the

    information remains true, current and complete.

    4.2        You must:

    a not act in a way, or use or introduce anything (including any virus, worm, Trojan horse, timebomb, keystroke logger, spyware or other similar feature) that in any way compromises, or may compromise, the Website or any Underlying System, or otherwise attempt to damage or interfere with the Website or any Underlying System; and

    b unless with our agreement, access the Website via standard web browsers only and not by any other method. Other methods include scraping, deep-linking, harvesting, data mining, use of a robot or spider, automation, or any similar data gathering, extraction or monitoring method.

    4.3 You indemnify us against all Loss we suffer or incur as a direct or indirect result of your failure to comply with these Terms.

    10.2      These Terms, and any dispute relating to these Terms or the Website, are governed by and must be interpreted in accordance with the laws of the

    Republic of Cyprus.

    Each party submits to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of the Republic of Cyprus in relation to any dispute connected with these Terms or the

    Website.

    10.3      For us to waive a right under these Terms, the waiver must be in writing.

    10.4      Clauses which, by their nature, are intended to survive termination of these Terms, including clauses 5, 6, 7, 10.1, continue in force.

    10.5      If any part or provision of these Terms is or becomes illegal, unenforceable, or invalid, that part or provision is deemed to be modified to the extent

    required to remedy the illegality, unenforceability or invalidity. If a modification is not possible, the part or provision must be treated for all purposes as

    severed from these Terms. The remainder of these Terms will be binding on you.

    10.6      These Terms set out everything agreed by the parties relating to your use of the Website and supersede and cancel anything discussed, exchanged or

    agreed prior to you agreeing to these Terms. The parties have not relied on any representation, warranty or agreement relating to the Website that is not

    expressly set out in the Terms, and no such representation, warranty or agreement has any effect from the date you agreed to these Terms.
