Russian in one month: introduction

“RUSSIAN IN APRIL 2020” – a special anti-crisis course for people in Cyprus.

Given unknown variables related to coronavirus crisis, these days we face a lot of challenges in business and personal life. But these challenges bring opportunities as well. We all have more time now, free time, we are not as busy as before. If you were planning to start learning Russian, this is a chance to make the first steps.

In 2015, trying to help my Cypriot friends to have basic knowledge of Russian, I have created a course Russian in 1 Month that allows students to quickly start reading and talking in Russian. The course consists of 30 lessons that need to be taken daily.

This very intensive course gives fast results because of a combination of three factors: experience and passion of your teacher, well-prepared text, audio, video materials and modern techniques of memorizing big volumes of new data.

Having in mind our self-isolation in April, I re-arranged this course to be taught through video communication by Zoom and homework published on a modern educational web platform Pruffme.

HOW IT WILL BE ORGANISED?

You may join me for 1-month-intensive-course where we will have live online lessons 5 times a week and you’ll have your homework and instructions to study 7 days a week, you’ll watch Russian movies and listen to Russian songs that I chose for you. I’ll work every day, for all 30 days of our course: during the week-ends you may send me your questions and even talk to me by skype if you need an urgent explanation.

The results: in one month you will speak and read basic Russian, you’ll know approximately 300 keywords, recognise in speech about 500-600 words and be able to construct over 1000 sentences using this vocabulary.

YOUR VOCABULARY:

  • • You will know by heart 300 Russian words that are used in daily communication. They are carefully selected for you and represent 50-60% of what people say to each other during normal non-specific communication.
  • • You will learn 50-60 most common sentences and 20-25 cliché that will help you to maintain any conversation.
  • • You will be able to use freely in any tense 20 Russian verbs and you’ll recognise in speech at least 50 more.
  • • Your passive Russian vocabulary (the words you’ll recognize in speech) will be over 500 words. We have our own special methodology of intensive words learning process that will help you to “digest” all this information in a short period of time.

WHEN SHALL WE START?

We’ll have our first lesson on the 1st of April. But actually, you’ll start as soon as you send me an email to [email protected]. I’ll send you a link to the first free lesson (pre-recorded video), and every day – from the day of registration until the day of our first lesson – you’ll get from me free video lessons. They’ll help you to use for your benefit the time that is left till April.

HOW SHALL WE STUDY?

Every working day (Monday to Friday) at 17.00 we’ll have our lesson. I’ll send you an invitation to a Zoom conference. The lesson duration is 45 minutes. If you understood everything and need to go, you may switch off your video, if you’ll need more details, you may stay for 15 min Q&A session that I plan to have after each live online lesson.

You’ll get from me electronic books for your studies as well as homework to repeat the words. Every day I shall send you a link to a song, a movie, a cartoon, a video spot that will be useful to repeat new words.

For each Saturday and Sunday, you’ll get homework that will make you busy for at least 1 hour a day. The essential part of our course is daily repetition. My goal is to make studying easy and pleasant. You’ll enjoy your homework and (believe me!) will soon ask to give you more additional materials for home.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

You can pay 100 euro every week or 300 euro in advance for one month course. We’ll start on the 1st of April and complete the course on the 30th of April.

If you are not sure whether this course is for you, you can pay for the first week only, get all free lessons before the course, 7 lessons during the course and stop if you are not convinced you need it now.

I’ll e-mail you details for all ways of payment to choose from: Bank transfer, Credit/debit card, Paypal, Revolut, etc.

HOW CAN I REGISTER?

Please send me a message in whatsapp or viber (tel. +357 99 587156) or email me: [email protected]

I’ll send you the first two free lessons to watch. It is free. If you like them, if you are willing to have live lessons with me, you’ll pay for the whole course or for the first week and you’ll start getting daily free materials (videos, songs, books) that I am sending to everyone who has been registered. I want you to start learning the language now. Even before we start “officially”.

YOUsmallR TEACHER

Dear friends,
Teaching is my profession and my hobby in the same time. I love it! I am a teacher by my University diploma and my spirit but since I came to Cyprus 20 years ago, I deal mainly with publishing, promotion, PR. I was asked many times by my clients and friends to give them a bit of advice on how to learn Russian in an easy and fast way. I looked through everything that it was available on the market but I did not find anything that would really be reliable and would help to speed up the process.

Finally few years ago I wrote a course myself. I combined the best methods I knew, to prepare all texts, exercises, audio, and video materials. Time has proofed – the course works! I am excited to present it to more students!

Now I self-isolated myself, as most of you. I have free time to help you to learn the basic rules of my native language. You will invest your time and efforts into s
omething that is very valuable. How many times have you thought it would be nice to know Russian? I’d like to say – the time has come! Do something about it!
