На птичьих правах

Птицы – одна из достопримечательностей Кипра. И – без преувеличения – гордость острова. Здесь обитают многие уникальные виды. В последнее время экоактивисты все чаще бьют тревогу: пернатые нуждаются в защите. Легкомысленное, а порой – откровенно варварское отношение человека к крылатым соседям наносит непоправимый вред природе.

Спасение раненых

Организация Birdlife Cyprus занимается поддержанием биоразнообразия на острове. Её эксперты дают несколько важных рекомендаций. Например, что делать, если вы нашли раненую птицу.

Важно помнить, что для диких птиц это большой стресс, если к ней приближается человек. Поэтому вмешиваться в ситуацию можно только в самом крайнем случае, если ваша помощь действительно необходима. Скажем, если у птицы небольшая травма на ноге, то пернатого пациента следует оставить в покое – в этой ситуации ваша помощь ему не нужна. От вмешательства будет больше вреда, чем пользы. А вот если у нее повреждено крыло – надо обратиться за помощью.

Правила первой помощи

Найти картонную коробку. Положить на дно несколько газет или бумажных полотенец. Сделать небольшие отверстия для вентиляции. Идеальный размер картонной коробки такой, чтобы птица могла стоять прямо, но не могла делать лишних движений. Хватайте птицу тканью. Будьте осторожны: она может вас ударить ключом или когтями. Следите за силой хватки, с которой вы держите птицу: она должны быть не слишком сильной, но при этом достаточно твердой. Правильный способ держать птицу: положить руку на её туловище так, чтобы голова птицы находилась между указательным и средним пальцами, а остальная часть руки была вокруг тела птицы. Если это крупный представитель пернатых и он не помещается в руке, то надо положить каждую руку на крылья птицы.

Коробку надо разместить в тихом месте (в теплом, если зима, и в прохладном – если лето), чтобы птица могла расслабиться и прийти в себя после стрессовой ситуации. Для лучшего результата не помешает накрыть голову птицы тканью.

Что делать и чего не делать

Важно напомнить: BirdLife Cyprus может предложить определенную неотложную помощь в наиболее сложных ситуациях. Но, как природоохранная организация, она не занимается вопросами благополучия животных, не является реабилитационным центром и не имеет условий для содержания птиц в неволе, независимо от вида. Поэтому за ветеринарной помощью или специальным уходом надо обращаться в профильные учреждения.

Не надо пытаться кормить или давать какие-либо лекарства птице. Это может привести к негативным последствиям.

Обращение с птенцами

Сейчас весна. И эта тема становится особенно актуальной. Молодняк подрастает, учится летать. Случаи выпадения из гнезд – обычное дело.

Если вы нашли на земле молодую птицу, не предпринимайте никаких действий, если только вы не уверены, что ее бросили или она ранена. Многие виды птиц подвижны и покидают гнездо в очень раннем возрасте. Особенно весной, очень часто можно увидеть молодых птиц, которые не полностью оперены. Они прыгают по земле. Может показаться, что они остались поля зрения своих родителей. Это вовсе не значит, что родителей нет. Они могут быть где-то рядом, наблюдать и кормить детенышей.

Если вы видите птицу, которой угрожает опасность со стороны людей или животных, её следует переместить в более безопасное место. Но всегда рядом с локацией, в котрой вы ее нашли: она обязательно подаст звук родителям. Важно, чтобы взрослые особи услышали крик своего птенца.

Три возраста птенцов

1) «hatchling» – только что вылупившийся слабоопушенный беспомощный птенец;
2) «nestling» – птенец, которому уже несколько дней. Он покрыт пухом, но еще не готов заботиться о себе сам;
3) «слеток» (fledgling) – птенец с первым оперением. Он уже способен самостоятельно передвигаться. На этой стадии они начинают покидать гнездо и учиться заботиться о себе самостоятельно.

Если птица не повреждена, но находится на земле, весьма вероятно, что это слеток. То есть он естественным образом покинул гнездо (оперился) и имеет короткие перья, как у взрослой особи. Но ее пока еще кормят родители. Он может сидеть на земле или прыгать, но не может летать. Тем не менее, его родители, вероятно, находятся поблизости, собирая пищу или бдительно наблюдая там, где вы их не видите. Удаление птенца из дикой природы снижает его шансы на выживание.

Если вы нашли молодую птицу, которая не оперена или покрыта пушистым пухом (nestling) или птенца, глаза которого еще не открыты (hatchling), скорее всего, он действительно выпал из гнезда. Такого малыша надо вернуть в гнездо.

Птицы, в отличие от млекопитающих, не отвергают свое потомство из-за запаха, который может передаваться от человека при обращении с птенцом. Если возвращение птенца в гнездо невозможно, то он станет зависим от ручного вскармливания.

Не пытайтесь вырастить птенца самостоятельно

Прежде всего, потому что это незаконно. Приносить молодых птиц домой и пытаться выращивать – нарушение законов. Большинство пернатых не выживут, если о них будут заботиться благонамеренные, но неопытные люди. А те, которые все-таки останутся в живых, окажутся в невыгодном положении: они пропустили важные уроки, которые они могли бы получить только от своих родителей. Например, как найти пищу и воду в дикой природе и как избежать хищников.

Исключения: стрижи и ласточки. Единственными исключениями являются стрижи, ласточки и домашние ласточки, которые способны хорошо летать, как только покидают гнездо, и никогда не должны находиться на земле.

Обыкновенный стриж (Apus apus), чтобы взлететь, нуждается в высокой платформе. Поэтому, если вы увидите этот вид на земле, он может быть не ранен – он может просто оказаться на мели. Лучшей помощью для него поднять его и просто позволить вылететь из высокого окна. Птенцы деревенской ласточки (Hirundo rustica) также вылетают прямо из гнезда, поэтому для них абсолютно неестественно находиться на земле.

    1            Application of terms

    1.1        These Terms apply to your use of the Website. By accessing and using the Website:

    a            you agree to these Terms; and

    b            where your access and use is on behalf of another person (e.g. a company), you confirm that you are authorised to, and do in fact, agree to these Terms

    on that person’s behalf and that, by agreeing to these Terms on that person’s behalf, that person is bound by these Terms.

    1.2        If you do not agree to these Terms, you are not authorised to access and use the Website, and you must immediately stop doing so.

     

    2            Changes

    2.1        We may change these Terms at any time by updating them on the Website. Unless stated otherwise, any change takes effect immediately.     3            Definitions

    In these Terms:

    Loss includes loss of profits, savings, revenue or data, and any other claim, damage, loss, liability and cost, including legal costs on a solicitor and own client basis

    personal information means information about an identifiable, living person

    Terms means these terms and conditions titled Terms and conditions of use

    Underlying System means any network, system, software, data or material that underlies or is connected to the Website

    We, us or our means VESTNIK KIPRA Group

    You means you or, if clause 1.1b applies, both you and the other person on whose behalf you are acting.

     

    4            Your obligations

    4.1        You must provide true, current and complete information in your dealings with us and must promptly update that information as required so that the

    information remains true, current and complete.

    4.2        You must:

    a not act in a way, or use or introduce anything (including any virus, worm, Trojan horse, timebomb, keystroke logger, spyware or other similar feature) that in any way compromises, or may compromise, the Website or any Underlying System, or otherwise attempt to damage or interfere with the Website or any Underlying System; and

    b unless with our agreement, access the Website via standard web browsers only and not by any other method. Other methods include scraping, deep-linking, harvesting, data mining, use of a robot or spider, automation, or any similar data gathering, extraction or monitoring method.

    4.3 You indemnify us against all Loss we suffer or incur as a direct or indirect result of your failure to comply with these Terms.
     

    5            Intellectual property

    We (and our licensors) own all proprietary and intellectual property rights in the Website (including all information, data, text, graphics, artwork, photographs, logos, icons, sound recordings, videos and look and feel), and the Underlying Systems.

     

    6            Disclaimers

    6.1        To the extent permitted by law, we and our licensors have no liability or responsibility to you or any other person for any Loss in connection with:

    a the Website being unavailable (in whole or in part) or performing slowly;

    b any error in, or omission from, any information made available through the Website;

    c any exposure to viruses or other forms of interference which may damage your computer system or expose you to fraud when you access or use the Website. To avoid doubt, you are responsible for ensuring the process by which you access and use the Website protects you from this; and

    8.1        You are not required to provide personal information to us, although in some cases if you choose not to do so then we will be unable to make certain sections of the Website available to you. For example, we may need to have your contact information in order to provide you with updates from our Website.

    8.2        The personal information you provide to us is collected and may be used for communicating with you, statistical analysis, the marketing by us of products

    and services to you, credit checks (if necessary), and research and development.

    10         General

    10.1      If we need to contact you, we may do so by email or by posting a notice on the Website. You agree that this satisfies all legal requirements in relation to written communications.

    10.2      These Terms, and any dispute relating to these Terms or the Website, are governed by and must be interpreted in accordance with the laws of the

    Republic of Cyprus.

    Each party submits to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of the Republic of Cyprus in relation to any dispute connected with these Terms or the

    Website.

    10.3      For us to waive a right under these Terms, the waiver must be in writing.

    10.4      Clauses which, by their nature, are intended to survive termination of these Terms, including clauses 5, 6, 7, 10.1, continue in force.

    10.5      If any part or provision of these Terms is or becomes illegal, unenforceable, or invalid, that part or provision is deemed to be modified to the extent

    required to remedy the illegality, unenforceability or invalidity. If a modification is not possible, the part or provision must be treated for all purposes as

    severed from these Terms. The remainder of these Terms will be binding on you.

    10.6      These Terms set out everything agreed by the parties relating to your use of the Website and supersede and cancel anything discussed, exchanged or

    agreed prior to you agreeing to these Terms. The parties have not relied on any representation, warranty or agreement relating to the Website that is not

    expressly set out in the Terms, and no such representation, warranty or agreement has any effect from the date you agreed to these Terms.
