Теплая заступница мира холодного

На живописных склонах Троодоса величаво раскинулся Святой Императорский Ставропигиальный монастырь Пресвятой Богородицы Киккской. Созданная, согласно преданию, еще при земной жизни Девы Марии, древнейшая икона Божией Матери хранится в святой обители с первых дней ее основания.

Эта икона была привезена на Кипр в XI веке византийским императором Алексием Комниным. Алексий же выделил из своей казны и средства для строительства монастыря. Под краеугольный камень при его строительстве был заложен Святой Крест. Потому, согласно церковным традициям, монастырь и получил название Ставропигиальный, что означает «крестоположенный».

Предание рассказывает, что чудотворная икона Богородицы была написана святым Лукой через семь лет после вознесения Христа. Увидев икону, Богородица воскликнула: «Пусть благоволение Господне исходит чрез мой лик!». Так началась жизнь этой иконы, которая продолжается уже почти две тысячи лет.

Икона эта, бережно передаваемая из рук в руки, много путешествовала по миру: Египет, Греция, Константинополь… С 1150 года святая реликвия покоится на золотом иконостасе Киккской обители. Эта древняя икона закрыта серебряным окладом, а лик ее скрыт от людских взглядов бархатным покровом с золотой вышивкой.

Образ Киккской Богородицы также известен под названием Элеуса, что означает Милостивая.

«Станет монастырем гора…»

Что означает название монастыря? В народе бытуют разные мнения об истории происхождения имени «Киккос». Одна из историй рассказывает о маленькой птичке, жившей в горах, своей песенкой предсказавшей появление святого места:

«Киккоса – Киккоса, станет монастырем гора…

Златая Владычица внутрь войдет и не покинет его никогда»

Согласно другой истории, место получило название благодаря пышно растущему вокруг кустарнику, именуемому «коккос».

Монастырский комплекс состоит из многочисленных жилых и хозяйственных построек. Сегодняшним великолепием монастырь во многом обязан настоятелю епископу Никифоросу. Стрельчатые арки, мозаичные изображения, архитектурные декоративные фрагменты прежних строений, глубокие колодцы в центре мощеных двориков – вот лишь некоторые особенности декоративного оформления монастыря, красота которого не оставляет равнодушным никого из посетивших его.

Когда-то, согласно традициям времени, храм монастыря был деревянным. После пожара 1365 года церковь начала обретать современный вид, и сегодня она представляет собой купольную базилику. Покрытый резьбой и позолотой, украшенный драгоценными каменьями иконостас храма создан в середине XVIII века.

Еще одной жемчужиной иконостаса является икона Богородицы Отрада и Утешение – список с одноименной иконы, которая уже много столетий хранится на горе Афон. 3 февраля 1997 года, в день ее празднования, икона Отрада и Утешение начала мироточить.

Нарядная колокольня, расположившаяся на склоне горы рядом с монастырем, органично дополняет его облик. Самый большой колокол, весом 1280 кг, был подарен монастырю царской Россией. На нем дарственная надпись «Обители Божией Матери, именуемой Киккской, на острове Кипр тщанием русских православных и усердием жительницы Москвы Екатерины Абрамовой, отлитый на заводе Богданова».

Возле монастыря на вершине Трони построен престол, где хранится копия животворящей иконы. Говорят, что во время засухи именно сюда монахи приносят икону, кладут ее, обращая ликом к небу, и начинают молиться, прося у Господа живительного дождя.

Музей монастыря Киккос

В северной части монастырского комплекса находится церковный музей. Он был создан в 1995 году по решению настоятеля монастыря Никифороса. Его коллекция, которая годами по крупицам собиралась монахами обители, по праву считается одной из лучших на Кипре. Церковная утварь, древние книги, лампады, подсвечники, одежда церковных служителей – вот лишь немногое из того, что бережно хранится в монастырском музее. В музее также открыта выставка старинных икон.

Трудно представить, сколько верующих за прошедшие столетия припадали к этим святыням. Ценности музея, обладающие высочайшей художественной значимостью, даже находясь на выставочных подиумах, вдохновляют на молитву.

    1            Application of terms

    1.1        These Terms apply to your use of the Website. By accessing and using the Website:

    a            you agree to these Terms; and

    b            where your access and use is on behalf of another person (e.g. a company), you confirm that you are authorised to, and do in fact, agree to these Terms

    on that person’s behalf and that, by agreeing to these Terms on that person’s behalf, that person is bound by these Terms.

    3            Definitions

    In these Terms:

    Loss includes loss of profits, savings, revenue or data, and any other claim, damage, loss, liability and cost, including legal costs on a solicitor and own client basis

    Terms means these terms and conditions titled Terms and conditions of use

    Underlying System means any network, system, software, data or material that underlies or is connected to the Website

    You means you or, if clause 1.1b applies, both you and the other person on whose behalf you are acting.

     

    4            Your obligations

    4.1        You must provide true, current and complete information in your dealings with us and must promptly update that information as required so that the

    information remains true, current and complete.

    4.2        You must:

    a not act in a way, or use or introduce anything (including any virus, worm, Trojan horse, timebomb, keystroke logger, spyware or other similar feature) that in any way compromises, or may compromise, the Website or any Underlying System, or otherwise attempt to damage or interfere with the Website or any Underlying System; and

    b unless with our agreement, access the Website via standard web browsers only and not by any other method. Other methods include scraping, deep-linking, harvesting, data mining, use of a robot or spider, automation, or any similar data gathering, extraction or monitoring method.

    4.3 You indemnify us against all Loss we suffer or incur as a direct or indirect result of your failure to comply with these Terms.

    10.2      These Terms, and any dispute relating to these Terms or the Website, are governed by and must be interpreted in accordance with the laws of the

    Republic of Cyprus.

    Each party submits to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of the Republic of Cyprus in relation to any dispute connected with these Terms or the

    Website.

    10.3      For us to waive a right under these Terms, the waiver must be in writing.

    10.4      Clauses which, by their nature, are intended to survive termination of these Terms, including clauses 5, 6, 7, 10.1, continue in force.

    10.5      If any part or provision of these Terms is or becomes illegal, unenforceable, or invalid, that part or provision is deemed to be modified to the extent

    required to remedy the illegality, unenforceability or invalidity. If a modification is not possible, the part or provision must be treated for all purposes as

    severed from these Terms. The remainder of these Terms will be binding on you.

    10.6      These Terms set out everything agreed by the parties relating to your use of the Website and supersede and cancel anything discussed, exchanged or

    agreed prior to you agreeing to these Terms. The parties have not relied on any representation, warranty or agreement relating to the Website that is not

    expressly set out in the Terms, and no such representation, warranty or agreement has any effect from the date you agreed to these Terms.
