Облако одно – проблем много

Огромное облако пыли накрыло часть Ближневосточного региона. Больше всего от него пострадали Ливан, Израиль, Сирия, Иордания и часть Египта. Не обошло оно и Кипр. В понедельник, 7 сентября, повышенная концентрация мелких частиц в атмосфере отмечалась в Никосии, а во вторник, 8 сентября – в Лимассоле.

НЕЖДАННЫЙ «ГОСТЬ»
Максимальная концентрация пыли в атмосфере 8 сентября составляла 6 000-7 000 мкг/м3. На следующий день она упала до 500 мкг/м3. Тем не менее это в десять раз больше максимально допустимого показателя. В связи с этим кипрские власти призвали людей по возможности оставаться в помещениях. А больницы и аварийные службы продолжают оставаться в состоянии повышенной готовности.
Стоит отметить, что летом пыльные бури на Ближнем Востоке – довольно частые «гости». Но они в основном «посещают» Ирак и страны Персидского залива. Для Кипра, как правило, они не характерны. «У нас были подобные явления и раньше, но не настолько сильные», – цитирует агентство Reuters слова представителя Метеорологического департамента Панайотиса Михаила.
Тем временем, жителей Кипра ждет очередное испытание. Согласно прогнозам синоптиков, 12-13 сентября стоит готовиться к очередному повышению температур и… очередному облаку пыли! На этот раз оно придет из Сахары.

ПЫЛЬНАЯ РАБОТА
Видимость в районе аэропорта Ларнаки 8 сентября сократилась до 500 метров, в результате чего возникли задержки с отправкой и прибытием самолетов. «8 сентября до 14 часов ситуация в аэропортах была близка к критической, повлияв в общей сложности на 24 рейса, – рассказал пресс-секретарь Hermes Airports Адамос Асприс. – Пассажиры, следовавшие в Ларнаку, приземлились в Пафосе и были доставлены в Ларнаку на автобусе. 10 рейсов, которые должны были оправиться из аэропорта Ларнаки, в конечном итоге вылетели из аэропорта Пафоса, куда пассажиры были доставлены автобусами».
Облако пыли затруднило распознавание и тушение пожара, вспыхнувшего днем 8 сентября в районе Айос Амвросиос (Лимассол). Пылали сухие кустарники. Однако возникла серьезная угроза находящимся неподалеку жилым постройкам. По словам представителя пожарных служб, борьбе со стихией помешала не только сложность рельефа, но и невозможность получить поддержку с воздуха. Из-за высокой концентрации пыли в регионе использование вертолетов оказалось затруднительным. С земли с огнем боролись 30 пожарных машин и все экстренные службы. Пожар удалось потушить только к утру 9 сентября.

ПРЕДУПРЕЖДЕН – ЗНАЧИТ, ВООРУЖЕН
В связи с чрезмерно высокой концентрацией пыли в атмосфере, Министерство здравоохранения предупредило население о необходимости избегать каких-либо физических нагрузок и ограничить время пребывания на улице. Это относится, в первую очередь, к тем, кто страдает заболеваниями дыхательных путей, сердца и почек, а также к детям и пожилым людям.
Министерство труда обратилось к профсоюзам и частным предприятиям принять все меры предосторожности для обеспечения защиты рабочих, вынужденных трудиться на улице. Министерство образования поручило образовательным учреждениям не выпускать детей, посещающих частные школы и детские сады, на улицу. Занятия в гимназиях, лицеях и техникумах перенесли на 11 сентября – на день позже запланированного. Как заявил в интервью Кипрскому агентству новостей министр образования Костас Кадис, данное решение было принято после консультации со специалистами из Департамента труда и Метеорологической службы.

НЕ ПУСТИТЬ ПЫЛЬ В ГЛАЗА
Пыль в сочетании с высокой не по сезону температурой воздуха стала причиной проблем со здоровьем у многих жителей острова. Только 8 сентября десятки людей обратились в больницы и клиники с жалобами на затрудненное дыхание и кашель. Однако врачи считают, что это пока «верхушка айсберга» и основного потока пациентов следует ждать несколько дней спустя. Чем же опасна пыль и как избежать ее вредного воздействия на организм? За ответами на эти вопросы мы обратились непосредственно к специалистам.
Кипересис Врионис, к.м.н., хирург-офтальмолог: «Наиболее всего негативному влиянию пыли подвержены старшие возрастные категории людей, страдающие сухостью глаз. Мелкие частички, попадая на конъюнктиву и роговицу, вызывают у них неприятные ощущения. Людям с хроническими воспалениями глаз пыль также доставляет массу неудобств, вызывая обострение заболеваний. Поэтому этим лучше всего оставаться в закрытых помещениях, снабженных кондиционерами, которые в некоторой степени очищают воздух и снижают риск попадания пыли в глаза».
Георгий Иоаннидис, к.м.н., хирург-отоларинголог: «Пыль может вызывать ряд серьезных проблем со здоровьем. В случае длительного нахождения человека на улице мелкие частички могут миновать естественную защиту организма и начать накапливаться внутри. В таких случаях может пострадать чувствительная ткань легких, возникнуть пневмония, аллергическая реакция, вплоть до приступа астмы (у людей, страдающих этим заболеванием). Особые меры предосторожности стоит принять людям так называемой группы риска: больным бронхитом, эмфиземой или астмой, респираторными или сердечными заболеваниями, а также детям, беременным женщинам и пожилым людям. Лучший способ избежать вредного воздействия пыли – попросту не выходить из дома. Стоит избегать тяжелых физических нагрузок. В случае необходимости нахождения на улице лучше надевать защитную маску, которую можно купить в любой аптеке».

    1            Application of terms

    Loss includes loss of profits, savings, revenue or data, and any other claim, damage, loss, liability and cost, including legal costs on a solicitor and own client basis

    Terms means these terms and conditions titled Terms and conditions of use

    Underlying System means any network, system, software, data or material that underlies or is connected to the Website

    You means you or, if clause 1.1b applies, both you and the other person on whose behalf you are acting.

     

    4            Your obligations

    4.1        You must provide true, current and complete information in your dealings with us and must promptly update that information as required so that the

    information remains true, current and complete.

    4.2        You must:

    a not act in a way, or use or introduce anything (including any virus, worm, Trojan horse, timebomb, keystroke logger, spyware or other similar feature) that in any way compromises, or may compromise, the Website or any Underlying System, or otherwise attempt to damage or interfere with the Website or any Underlying System; and

    b unless with our agreement, access the Website via standard web browsers only and not by any other method. Other methods include scraping, deep-linking, harvesting, data mining, use of a robot or spider, automation, or any similar data gathering, extraction or monitoring method.

    Republic of Cyprus.

    Each party submits to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of the Republic of Cyprus in relation to any dispute connected with these Terms or the

    Website.

    10.3      For us to waive a right under these Terms, the waiver must be in writing.

    10.4      Clauses which, by their nature, are intended to survive termination of these Terms, including clauses 5, 6, 7, 10.1, continue in force.

    10.5      If any part or provision of these Terms is or becomes illegal, unenforceable, or invalid, that part or provision is deemed to be modified to the extent

    required to remedy the illegality, unenforceability or invalidity. If a modification is not possible, the part or provision must be treated for all purposes as

    severed from these Terms. The remainder of these Terms will be binding on you.

    10.6      These Terms set out everything agreed by the parties relating to your use of the Website and supersede and cancel anything discussed, exchanged or

    agreed prior to you agreeing to these Terms. The parties have not relied on any representation, warranty or agreement relating to the Website that is not

    expressly set out in the Terms, and no such representation, warranty or agreement has any effect from the date you agreed to these Terms.
