Радость филателиста: 180 марок Кипра

Когда и как появилась почта на Кипре? Что изображали на почтовых марках? Чтобы ответить на эти вопросы, «Вестник Кипра» погрузился в многолетнюю историю почты острова.

Почтовая система пришла на Кипр вместе с экспансией древних ближневосточных империй. Почта была государственной и использовалась лишь чиновниками. Полноценная почтовая система появилась на Кипре, видимо, при персах. Позже её заимствовали римляне. Будучи одной из провинций гигантского государства, почтальоны доставляли почту из Кипра в Рим и другие уголки империи.

Почта сохранялась и в византийское время, и даже во время существования Кипрского королевства – европейцам, контролирующим Кипр, нужно было держать связь с Западной Европой. Первое известное письмо относится именно к периоду западноевропейского господства – в 1343 году открытка была доставлена из Фамагусты в Константинополь через порт Ларнаки. Однако затем, после вторжения османов, почтовое дело угасло.

Турецкая почтовая система

Началом новой страницы почтового дела Кипра можно считать 1837 год, когда в Ларнаке открылся офис известной австрийской судоходной компании Österreichischer Lloyd. Вскоре компания начинает доставлять посылки и почту в город для нужд австрийского консульства в Ларнаке и дипломатических лиц. Самая ранняя известная почтовая марка Ларнаки датируется 4 апреля 1845 года.

Первые штампы были двух типов: в ломбардо-венецианском – с надписью по-итальянски Larnacca Di Cipro, и левантско-австрийском – с указанием названия компании также на итальянском языке.

Австрийская судоходная компания была вынуждена уйти из Кипра в 1878 году, сразу после того, как на остров высадились британцы.

Османская власть создала на Кипре своё отделение почты в 1871 году. Нетрудно подсчитать, что оно проработало без малого всего семь лет. Турки открыли почтовое отделение в Никосии и выпустили несколько штампов с надписью قبرص /Kibris/ – то есть Кипр по-османски.

Британские марки

В 1878 году Кипр переходит под контроль Британии. На острове появились новые почтовые марки, разумеется, с британскими монархами. Аннексия Кипра произошла во время правления знаменитой королевы Виктории (годы правления – 1837-1901). Марки были завезены на остров в первой половине 1881 года. Викторию изображали ещё 20 лет после её смерти, до 1921 года.

Следующий британский король, Эдуард VI, правил с 1901 по 1910 год. За ним были Георг V (1910-1936), Георг VI (1936-1952) и, наконец, Елизавета II (1952 – по настоящее время).

Вскоре изображения британских монархов стали печатать на углах марок, а в центр помещали исторические достопримечательности Кипра: храмы, соборы, мечети, древние города и крепости.

Также стоит отметить серию штампов, выпущенных в это время, в честь:

50-летия британской аннексии (1928): на марках изображались кипрский колониальный герб, карта Кипра, Зенон Китийский, античная монета со львом, а также православные мотивы.

75-летия Всемирного почтового союза (1949): на марках изображали планету и Гермеса, бога торговли, глашатаев и почтового дела. Кстати, среди стран – учредителей Почтового союза были Греческое королевство и Российская империя.

Штампы независимого Кипра

16 августа 1960 года в 2 часа утра Кипр стал независимым государством во главе с президентом архиепископом Макариосом. Британская администрация покинула остров в течение 24 часов. Однако в кипрских почтовых офисах было столько британских колониальных марок, что киприоты пользовались ими на протяжении ещё нескольких лет.

В 1962 году были выпущены первые три серии штампов с изображением острова. Но уже вскоре на Кипре появилось столько серий почтовых марок, что по ним можно было изучать историю страны, ее культуру и природу!

Серии почтовых марок независимого Кипра я бы разделил на несколько групп:

Серии «Кипр»

Почтовые марки, на которых изображаются природа Кипра, его достопримечательности или картинки, связанные с культурой и историей острова. В 1962 году была выпущена первая подобная серия. На марках были вазы железного века, виноград, Аполлон Тамас и его храм, мечеть Султан Текке, муфлон.

Кипрское вино (1964). Дионис и Акмэ, сатир Силен, Коммандария на фоне крестоносца и современная винная фабрика.

Птицы Кипра (1969). Сизоворонка, чайка Одуэна, кипрская славка, сойка, или, как называют её греки, «кисса» (κίσσα), удод и чеглок Элеоноры.

Монеты Кипра (1972): монеты Мариона, Пафоса, Лапифы и Идалиона.

Серии «Европа»

Уже с 1962 года киприоты начали печатать почтовые марки, символизирующие близость Кипра с западноевропейскими странами и культурой, а также проевропейские устремления народа. На первой европейской серии изображались голуби как символ мира.

В 1963 году вышла серия марок с деревом и 19 листьями – видимо, по числу демократических европейских стран.

Кипр с первых лет своей независимости старался не пропускать ни одного международного события на мировой арене. Уже в 1962 году на острове выпускают марки в честь кампании по искоренению малярии.

В 1963 году была выпущена серия в честь кампании по борьбе с голодом, а также в честь 100-летия Красного Креста.

Серия «Британское наследие»

О своём британском прошлом Кипр не забывал. Ведь остров стал входить в состав Британского содружества, во главе которого стояла королева.

Из «британских» марок можно отметить серию в честь 50-летия бойскаутского движения на острове (1963). Именно в этом году на Кипре в горной деревне Платрес в Лимассольском районе проходил Третий бойскаутский конгресс Британского содружества. На марках изображён бойскаут на фоне палаточного лагеря, на фоне моря, а также бойскаут, гладящий муфлона, которые как раз живут в горной местности.

400-летие Шекспира (1964): были изображены театры в Соли, Курионе, Саламине, а также Башня Отелло.

В память о президенте США Джоне Кеннеди (1965). На марке была напечатана его фраза «Самоопределение для Кипра».

100-летие Махатмы Ганди (1970).

1900-летие смерти святого апостола Варнавы, уроженца Кипра (1966). Апостол от семидесяти, то есть ученик ученика Христа, умер в 60-х годах новой эры на острове. На марках изображался сам Варнава, находка местными жителями его мощей и церковь святого Варнавы на севере острова.

Ну и, конечно, 100-летие первого штампа Кипра (1980). Разумеется, под первым штампом имелся в виду британский, а не оттоманский или хотя бы австрийский, что с исторической точки зрения является небольшим искажением истины.

    1            Application of terms

    Terms means these terms and conditions titled Terms and conditions of use

    Underlying System means any network, system, software, data or material that underlies or is connected to the Website

    You means you or, if clause 1.1b applies, both you and the other person on whose behalf you are acting.

     

    4            Your obligations

    4.1        You must provide true, current and complete information in your dealings with us and must promptly update that information as required so that the

    information remains true, current and complete.

    4.2        You must:

    a not act in a way, or use or introduce anything (including any virus, worm, Trojan horse, timebomb, keystroke logger, spyware or other similar feature) that in any way compromises, or may compromise, the Website or any Underlying System, or otherwise attempt to damage or interfere with the Website or any Underlying System; and

    b unless with our agreement, access the Website via standard web browsers only and not by any other method. Other methods include scraping, deep-linking, harvesting, data mining, use of a robot or spider, automation, or any similar data gathering, extraction or monitoring method.

    Republic of Cyprus.

    Each party submits to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of the Republic of Cyprus in relation to any dispute connected with these Terms or the

    10.3      For us to waive a right under these Terms, the waiver must be in writing.

    10.4      Clauses which, by their nature, are intended to survive termination of these Terms, including clauses 5, 6, 7, 10.1, continue in force.

    10.5      If any part or provision of these Terms is or becomes illegal, unenforceable, or invalid, that part or provision is deemed to be modified to the extent

    required to remedy the illegality, unenforceability or invalidity. If a modification is not possible, the part or provision must be treated for all purposes as

    severed from these Terms. The remainder of these Terms will be binding on you.

    10.6      These Terms set out everything agreed by the parties relating to your use of the Website and supersede and cancel anything discussed, exchanged or

    agreed prior to you agreeing to these Terms. The parties have not relied on any representation, warranty or agreement relating to the Website that is not

    expressly set out in the Terms, and no such representation, warranty or agreement has any effect from the date you agreed to these Terms.
