Поговорим о церковных календарях

Почему большинство церковных праздников в России и на Кипре отмечаются в разные дни? Этим вопросом наверняка задавались все те, кому не чужды как кипрские, так и русские церковные традиции. Как известно, даты наших общих праздников расходятся, кроме даты празднования Пасхи и связанных с ней дней (например, Пятидесятницы). Связано это с различием календарей, принятых в наших церквах.

Любая календарная реформа, которая проводилась в то или иное время, имела своей целью привести к соответствию календарный и тропический (фактический) год. Вот что это означает: как известно, год – это промежуток времени, за который земля делает полный круг вокруг солнца. Равен он 365,2421 суткам. То есть не просто 365 суткам, как мы привыкли думать, а 365 суткам с небольшим «хвостиком». И если мы принимаем (как древние египтяне), что год состоит просто из 365 дней, то этот самый «хвостик» постепенно накапливается и в результате дата весеннего равноденствия сдвигается и переходит на лето, потом на осень и зиму. Осознавая эту погрешность, астрономы Древнего Рима придумали так называемые «високосные года», то есть систему, при которой один раз за четырехлетний цикл год состоит не из 365 дней, а из 366. Это позволяет компенсировать то накопление, которое происходит из-за того самого «хвостика». Этот календарь был назван «юлианским» (в честь официально утвердившего его Юлия Цезаря) и был принят в европейских странах довольно долгое время. Однако в XIV веке византийский ученый Никифор Григора отметил в своем докладе императору, что юлианский календарь тоже таит в себе оплошность – каждые 128 лет дата весеннего равноденствия сдвигается на один день (то есть фактический год расходится с календарным на один день). Это происходит от того, что согласно юлианскому календарю год состоит из 365,25 суток вместо необходимых 365,2421. Знаменательно, что византийский император, приняв доклад к сведению, сказал, что менять ничего не будет, так как это вызовет недовольство народа.

Решимости, не хватавшей византийскому императору, хватило римскому папе Григорию, который в 1582 году издал указ о переходе на новый календарь, впоследствии названный в его честь григорианским. Григорианский календарь точнее отображает соответствие фактического года и календарного. И хотя переход на новый стиль вызвал в некоторых европейских странах недовольство (особенно среди купцов и ростовщиков, чьи доходы и расходы были связана с определенными датами), он почти повсеместно утвердился и был принят как основной. Из европейских стран только Россия жила по юлианскому календарю вплоть до 1917 года. То есть русские путешественники, отправлявшиеся в Европу, попадали в другую дату (разница в XIX веке составляла 12 дней, а значит, пересекая границу с Пруссией или Австро-Венгрией, например, 16 октября, русский человек оказывался там 28 октября). После революции новообразовавшаяся Российская республика перешла на общепринятый григорианский календарь и это расхождение пропало.

В 1923 году в Константинополе состоялось совещание православных епископов под началом патриарха Константинопольского Мелетия (кстати, уроженца Кипра), которое постановило в качестве основного церковного календаря принять так называемый «новоюлианский». Его суть заключалась в том, что все праздники отмечаются по «новому стилю», а Пасха рассчитывается по старому. Это изменение приняли все православные церкви, но не везде оно вызвало положительный результат. Например, именно с этим решением связан так называемый «старостильный раскол» в Греции и на Кипре. Также мало кто знает, что 2 октября 1923 года и Русская Православная Церковь, вслед за остальными, перешла на «новоюлианский календарь». Однако вскоре, по требованию церковного народа, это решение было приостановлено (Русская Церковь жила по новому стилю всего 24 дня). Таким образом, сегодня только Русская, Иерусалимская, Грузинская и Сербская Церковь (а также афонские монастыри) живут по юлианскому календарю, остальные 11 поместных церквей (среди них и Кипрская) используют новоюлианский.

Как видно из истории, календарные реформы всегда руководствовались благим принципом – привести в соответствие фактический год и календарный, для того чтобы со временем не получилось так, что в зимние месяцы стоит весенняя погода, а в летние – осенняя. Суть же перехода на «новый стиль» в церковной жизни заключалась в том, чтобы праздники отмечались именно в те даты, в которые они были установлены. Яркий пример – празднование Рождества. По всей логике этого события оно должно отмечаться в день зимнего солнцестояния 25 декабря (именно в связи с зимним солнцестоянием и была определена эта дата, которую невозможно точно вычислить по Евангелиям). Так оно и отмечается в тех церквах, которые перешли на новоюлианский календарь, в остальных же церквах оно отмечается, как известно, 7 января (то есть в день, когда зимнее солнцестояние уже давно позади). Следует также отметить, что расхождение между старым и новым стилем, которое на сегодня составляет 13 дней, будет увеличиваться, и после 2100 года составит уже 14 дней. Соответственно, и привычные нам даты праздников сместятся на один день (Рождество должно будет отмечаться 8 января, Крещение – 20 января, Покров – 15 октября и т.д.). С другой стороны, для многих православных, причисляющих себя к Русской Православной Церкви, вопрос сохранения «старого стиля» (именно в силу его древности) является принципиальным, ради которого они готовы даже пострадать. А в этом случае лучше всего руководствоваться советами апостола Павла: «Сильные должны носить немощи бессильных, и не себе угождать» и «Если пища соблазняет брата моего, не буду есть мяса вовек» (читай: «Если новый стиль соблазняет брата моего, не буду на него переходить вопреки всем логическим доводам»). В любом случае, христианство – не нумерология, привязанная к тем или иным датам, а «единство веры в союзе мира».

И помнить этот завет важнее, нежели с пеной у рта доказывать нерушимость того или иного календаря.

    1            Application of terms

    1.1        These Terms apply to your use of the Website. By accessing and using the Website:

    a            you agree to these Terms; and

    b            where your access and use is on behalf of another person (e.g. a company), you confirm that you are authorised to, and do in fact, agree to these Terms

    on that person’s behalf and that, by agreeing to these Terms on that person’s behalf, that person is bound by these Terms.

    1.2        If you do not agree to these Terms, you are not authorised to access and use the Website, and you must immediately stop doing so.

     

    2            Changes

    2.1        We may change these Terms at any time by updating them on the Website. Unless stated otherwise, any change takes effect immediately. You are       responsible for ensuring you are familiar with the latest Terms. By continuing to access and use the Website, you agree to be bound by the changed

    2.2        We may change, suspend, discontinue, or restrict access to, the Website without notice or liability.

    3            Definitions

    In these Terms:

    including and similar words do not imply any limit

    Loss includes loss of profits, savings, revenue or data, and any other claim, damage, loss, liability and cost, including legal costs on a solicitor and own client basis

    personal information means information about an identifiable, living person

    Terms means these terms and conditions titled Terms and conditions of use

    Underlying System means any network, system, software, data or material that underlies or is connected to the Website

    We, us or our means VESTNIK KIPRA Group

    You means you or, if clause 1.1b applies, both you and the other person on whose behalf you are acting.

     

    4            Your obligations

    4.1        You must provide true, current and complete information in your dealings with us and must promptly update that information as required so that the

    information remains true, current and complete.

    4.2        You must:

    a not act in a way, or use or introduce anything (including any virus, worm, Trojan horse, timebomb, keystroke logger, spyware or other similar feature) that in any way compromises, or may compromise, the Website or any Underlying System, or otherwise attempt to damage or interfere with the Website or any Underlying System; and

    b unless with our agreement, access the Website via standard web browsers only and not by any other method. Other methods include scraping, deep-linking, harvesting, data mining, use of a robot or spider, automation, or any similar data gathering, extraction or monitoring method.

    4.3 You indemnify us against all Loss we suffer or incur as a direct or indirect result of your failure to comply with these Terms.
     

    5            Intellectual property

    We (and our licensors) own all proprietary and intellectual property rights in the Website (including all information, data, text, graphics, artwork, photographs, logos, icons, sound recordings, videos and look and feel), and the Underlying Systems.

     

    6            Disclaimers

    6.1        To the extent permitted by law, we and our licensors have no liability or responsibility to you or any other person for any Loss in connection with:

    a the Website being unavailable (in whole or in part) or performing slowly;

    b any error in, or omission from, any information made available through the Website;

    c any exposure to viruses or other forms of interference which may damage your computer system or expose you to fraud when you access or use the Website. To avoid doubt, you are responsible for ensuring the process by which you access and use the Website protects you from this; and

    8            Privacy policy

    8.1        You are not required to provide personal information to us, although in some cases if you choose not to do so then we will be unable to make certain sections of the Website available to you. For example, we may need to have your contact information in order to provide you with updates from our Website.

    8.2        The personal information you provide to us is collected and may be used for communicating with you, statistical analysis, the marketing by us of products

    and services to you, credit checks (if necessary), and research and development.

    8.3        We may also collect technical information whenever you log on to, or visit the public version of, our Website. This may include information about the way

    9.2        On suspension or termination, you must immediately cease using the Website and must not attempt to gain further access.

     

    10         General

    10.1      If we need to contact you, we may do so by email or by posting a notice on the Website. You agree that this satisfies all legal requirements in relation to written communications.

    10.2      These Terms, and any dispute relating to these Terms or the Website, are governed by and must be interpreted in accordance with the laws of the

    Republic of Cyprus.

    Each party submits to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of the Republic of Cyprus in relation to any dispute connected with these Terms or the

    Website.

    10.3      For us to waive a right under these Terms, the waiver must be in writing.

    10.4      Clauses which, by their nature, are intended to survive termination of these Terms, including clauses 5, 6, 7, 10.1, continue in force.

    10.5      If any part or provision of these Terms is or becomes illegal, unenforceable, or invalid, that part or provision is deemed to be modified to the extent

    required to remedy the illegality, unenforceability or invalidity. If a modification is not possible, the part or provision must be treated for all purposes as

    severed from these Terms. The remainder of these Terms will be binding on you.

    10.6      These Terms set out everything agreed by the parties relating to your use of the Website and supersede and cancel anything discussed, exchanged or

    agreed prior to you agreeing to these Terms. The parties have not relied on any representation, warranty or agreement relating to the Website that is not

    expressly set out in the Terms, and no such representation, warranty or agreement has any effect from the date you agreed to these Terms.
