Почему у берегов Кипра так много подводных артефактов?

«Путь в тысячу ли начинается с первого шага», – писал древнекитайский философ Лао-цзы. Для многих великих цивилизаций Востока и Запада именно Кипр нередко становился этим первым шагом. На протяжении тысячелетий остров занимал ключевое место на морских торговых путях, связывая Египет и Левант с Эгейским миром, а позднее – с Римской империей. Богатая история острова оставила впечатляющий след на суше, однако не менее увлекательная ее часть скрыта под водой – в затонувших кораблях и их грузах.

Расположенный на пересечении Европы, Азии и Африки, Кипр занимал одно из самых стратегически важных мест в древнем Средиземноморье.

По этим морским маршрутам регулярно курсировали торговые суда, перевозившие медь – самый известный экспортный товар острова. Она была настолько ценным ресурсом, что многие историки считают: латинское слово cuprum произошло от Cyprium, что означает «металл Кипра».

Помимо меди с острова вывозили древесину из лесов Троодоса, вино, оливковое масло, керамику, ткани, драгоценные камни и предметы роскоши, предназначенные для рынков по всему Средиземноморью.

Естественные гавани Кипра превратились в оживлённые торговые центры, где встречались купцы, моряки и ремесленники самых разных культур. Финикийцы основывали здесь торговые поселения, греки создавали процветающие города-государства, персы включили Кипр в состав своей империи, а позднее римляне превратили его в одну из важнейших провинций восточного Средиземноморья. Венецианцы укрепили прибрежные оборонительные сооружения, а Османская империя продолжила использовать выгодное стратегическое положение острова на морских путях. Каждая из этих цивилизаций оставила после себя памятники, традиции и археологические сокровища, которые и сегодня формируют культурную самобытность Кипра.

Однако не менее увлекательная часть этой истории скрыта под водой.

На протяжении веков штормы, морские сражения, землетрясения и обычные морские происшествия отправляли корабли вместе с их грузами на морское дно. В отличие от многих археологических памятников на суше, эти своеобразные «капсулы времени» под водой зачастую сохранились в удивительно хорошем состоянии благодаря слоям песка и спокойным водам, окружающим остров.

Одним из самых известных примеров в мире является кораблекрушение у Кирении – греческое торговое судно IV века до нашей эры. Обнаруженное у северного побережья Кипра, оно позволило археологам получить беспрецедентное представление о древнем кораблестроении, мореплавании и повседневной торговле. Прекрасно сохранившийся корпус судна, груз из сотен винных амфор, миндаля, жерновов и различных повседневных предметов не только показал, как строились корабли, но и раскрыл, как функционировала средиземноморская торговля более 2300 лет назад.

На Кипре также находится древняя гавань Аматуса, где до сих пор под водой сохранились портовые сооружения, свидетельствующие о высоком инженерном мастерстве эпохи эллинизма. Недалеко от Саламина – одного из величайших древних городов острова – море по-прежнему скрывает следы оживлённых торговых портов и военно-морской деятельности, игравших важную роль в противостоянии греков и персов.

Сегодня дайверы, приезжающие на Кипр, могут исследовать гораздо больше, чем живописные рифы и кристально чистую воду. Такие места, как Подводный археологический парк Аматуса, объединяют историю и охрану морской среды, позволяя посетителям плавать среди древних сооружений, которые теперь стали домом для косяков рыб, осьминогов, груперов и множества других обитателей Средиземного моря. Знаменитый затонувший паром «Зенобия» , хотя и относится к более позднему времени, также стал одной из лучших в мире подводных достопримечательностей, ежегодно привлекая дайверов со всего света.

Воды, окружающие Кипр, хранят тысячелетнюю историю человечества.

Каждый якорь, каждая амфора и каждое затонувшее судно рассказывают историю купцов, исследователей, моряков и целых империй, чья жизнь была неразрывно связана с морем. Вместе они напоминают нам о том, что Средиземное море никогда не было преградой между цивилизациями – напротив, оно служило дорогой, соединяющей их.

Изучение подводного наследия Кипра позволяет по-новому взглянуть на прошлое острова и понять, что многие из его величайших исторических сокровищ находятся не на суше, а скрываются под морскими волнами.

4            Your obligations

10.4      Clauses which, by their nature, are intended to survive termination of these Terms, including clauses 5, 6, 7, 10.1, continue in force.

required to remedy the illegality, unenforceability or invalidity. If a modification is not possible, the part or provision must be treated for all purposes as

severed from these Terms. The remainder of these Terms will be binding on you.

10.6      These Terms set out everything agreed by the parties relating to your use of the Website and supersede and cancel anything discussed, exchanged or

agreed prior to you agreeing to these Terms. The parties have not relied on any representation, warranty or agreement relating to the Website that is not
