Ларнака: как город менялся за последний век

Ларнака – третий по величине город Кипра. Зимой он привлекает семьи с детьми своим спокойным ритмом жизни. А летом это один из самых посещаемых туристами курортов острова, во многом благодаря расположенному поблизости международному аэропорту и протяженным песчаным пляжам. С недавних пор к Ларнаке стали проявлять интерес бизнесмены и инвесторы, а в конце 2025 года город был объявлен культурной столицей Европы-2030. Как Ларнака преобразилась за последний век и сумела ли сохранить свою самобытность?

Когда-то кинотеатр Pallas был в Ларнаке очень популярен, многие жители города всё ещё тепло вспоминают о нем. В честь него был назван и сквер Pallas, находящийся в центре города между двумя главными торговыми улицами: Эрму и Зинонос Китиэос, в паре минут от главной набережной города Финикудес. Однако кинотеатр не смог выдержать проверку временем. Сегодня в его здании, после капитального ремонта, расположился трехзвездочный отель Mercure Larnaca City. Для тех, кто еще помнит на этом месте кинотеатр это – напоминание о неумолимом течении времени и неизбежных переменах.

Здание справа на первой фотографии также очень изменилось, хотя больше внутренне, чем внешне. Раньше здесь находилась постоянная выставка сельскохозяйственной, промышленной и ремесленной продукции. Сегодня здесь расположен информационный центр для туристов. Очередной пример того, как на протяжении истории город смещал свое внимание – с нужд собственных жителей на развитие туризма.

Есть в Ларнаке и места, сохранившие как свой облик, так и изначальное назначение. Например, монастырь Святого Джозефа, в котором раньше размещалась одноименная школа для девочек. Эта французская школа была основана между 1846 и 1848 годами. В монастыре находились также лазарет и аптека. Церковь работает и сегодня, она открыта для посетителей и активно поддерживает проведение благотворительных мероприятий. На остальной территории монастыря, как и раньше, расположена частная школа. Так здание, простоявшее почти два века, все еще служит той же цели, для которой оно было построено.

Некоторые места в Ларнаке и вовсе никак не изменились за последние сто лет. Например, акведук Камарес, также известный как акведук Бекир-паши – по имени османского губернатора Ларнаки, который профинансировал его постройку из личных средств. Возведенный в XVIII веке, этот водопровод поставлял свежую питьевую воду в город еще двести лет. Сегодня конструкция, конечно, больше не служит водопроводом. Но ее величественные арки, ночная подсветка и контраст с окружающими современными зданиями центра города привлекают туристов и любителей истории, превращая мост в живописное место для памятных фотографий. А для местных жителей это яркий маршрут для пеших прогулок.

Одно из самых оживлённых и посещаемых мест в Ларнаке – центральная набережная Финикудес. Здесь ежегодно проводится множество фестивалей, праздников и парадов. Вдоль набережной с одной стороны расположены отели, кафе и рестораны, а другая ее сторона переходит в популярный одноименный пляж. Пройдем вдоль этой улицы с востока на запад – от порта до средневековой крепости.

Наша прогулка начинается с того, что раньше было городским портом, а сегодня более известно как марина Ларнаки. Здесь все еще стоят рыбацкие лодки, которые поставляют улов в рестораны на набережной. Но тут также можно увидеть и множество яхт: как частных, так и тех, что можно арендовать для прогулок по морю. А грузовые суда, которые раньше прибывали на этот пирс, теперь разгружаются в порту, расположенном к востоку от Финикудес.

Так как нужды в разгрузке кораблей больше нет, то и пространство напротив бывшего порта – площадь Европы – поменяло свое предназначение. Сегодня здесь находится прогулочная зона с фонтаном. А в исторических зданиях бывших складов находятся муниципальный музей исторического архива Ларнаки и художественная галерея города.

Слева от музея, вы увидите четырехзвездочный отель; его здание имеет интересную и долгую историю. В 1920-х годах это здание было кофейней. Начиная с 1935 года и во время Второй Мировой войны оно превратилось в кабаре. В 1970-е здесь открылся отель Sun Hall, который был полностью обновлен в 2019 году. Отель популярен благодаря своему местоположению на береговой линии центра города.

В конце набережной, после многочисленных кафе, туристических магазинов и поворота к церкви Святого Лазаря – покровителя города – находится средневековая крепость. Форт, построенный в XIV веке, успел побывать и османским гарнизоном, и британской тюрьмой. Сегодня здание выполняет гораздо более мирную функцию. Здесь расположен музей с керамикой, оружием и другими средневековыми артефактами. Его посетители могут погулять по внутреннему двору и полюбоваться панорамным видом на море со смотровой площадки на втором этаже. Недалеко от крепости расположена еще одна достопримечательность – мечеть Джами Кебир.

И напоследок упомянем еще одно место, которое, пожалуй, имеет самую долгую историю из всех, перечисленных в этой статье, – и при этом изменилось только его окружение, а не оно само.

Это Соляное озеро Ларнаки. Каждую зиму после дождей оно наполняется водой и сюда прилетают зимовать стаи фламинго – любимое зрелище как для туристов, так и для местных жителей. Летом озеро высыхает, и пейзаж становится просто инопланетным. Соль, содержащаяся в воде, покрывает землю плотным слоем и при ярком летнем солнце озеро кажется заснеженным. Большая часть озера окружена парком, с прогулочными дорожками и смотровыми площадками. Рядом находится популярная среди туристов достопримечательность – мечеть Хала Султан Текке.

Итак, Ларнака продолжает меняться и расти и, возможно, еще лет через сто город будет выглядеть совершенно иначе.
