Лыжи, снег и Средиземноморье: чего мы не знаем о Троодосе

Снег на Кипре – не случайность и не редкое чудо, а регулярное, пусть и нестабильное зимнее явление. Он выпадает каждый год, хотя и не всегда задерживается надолго. Чаще всего это происходит в январе и феврале, иногда снег появляется уже в декабре и может пролежать до марта. Все зависит от конкретной зимы, поэтому точных дат начала и окончания сезона здесь не существует.

Метеорологическая служба Кипра ведет наблюдения за зимней погодой уже несколько десятилетий. В среднем в январе в районе Троодоса фиксируется около десяти снежных дней. Однако история знает и исключительные сезоны. Так, январь 1981 года стал рекордным: тогда снег шёл 22 дня, а его высота на площади Троодоса достигла 248 см — это абсолютный максимум за всё время наблюдений. В тот месяц средняя высота снежного покрова составляла около 75 см, что по кипрским меркам можно считать почти невероятным.

Снег на Кипре нестабилен, быстро реагирует на потепление и тает, но именно благодаря этому каждое его появление воспринимается как праздник и сразу попадает в заголовки СМИ.

Горнолыжный сезон здесь открывают и закрывают не по календарным датам, а по фактическим погодным условиям. Как только открыт хотя бы один подъёмник, можно считать, что сезон начался. Актуальная информация всегда публикуется на официальном сайте Cyprus Ski Club, и именно на него стоит ориентироваться тем, кто планирует поездку.

Центром кипрской зимы является гора Олимп, в греческом произношении Олимбос, народное название ― Хионистра, то есть «снежная». Это самая высокая точка острова, достигающая 1950 м над уровнем моря. С некоторых ее склонов в ясную погоду видно теплое Средиземное море, и этот контраст производит сильное впечатление.

Девять трасс и пять подъемников

На склонах Олимпа расположен единственный на Кипре горнолыжный курорт. Он включает два основных района катания – южный склон Sun Valley и северный North Face. Всего здесь насчитывается девять трасс разного уровня сложности и пять подъёмников. Есть простые и короткие трассы для новичков, детские спуски и более сложные маршруты для опытных лыжников и сноубордистов. Работает пункт проката и лыжная школа. Обычно подъёмники функционируют с девяти утра до четырёх часов дня и закрываются лишь в случае неблагоприятной погоды, например сильной грозы, что зимой на Кипре тоже случается.

За обслуживание курорта отвечает Кипрская лыжная федерация, объединяющая лыжные клубы Никосии, Лимассола, Ларнаки, Фамагусты и Троодоса. Она входит в международную Федерацию лыжного спорта. В пяти клубах, составляющих Кипрскую лыжную федерацию, зарегистрированы 54 спортсмена. Члены клубов имеют право на льготы при покупке ски-пассов и аренде оборудования. У подножия северного склона работает ресторан Dias, где можно согреться и перекусить после катания. На склоне Sun Valley с начала 1960-х годов находится временное здание (полукруглое строение типа хижины Ниссена), которое десятилетиями служило базой курорта. Несмотря на ремонты, оно сильно изношено и уже с трудом отвечает современным требованиям.

Всего час езды

Гора Олимп расположена рядом с деревней Троодос, название которой совпадает с именем горного хребта. Именно туда и нужно ехать желающим познакомиться с кипрской зимой поближе. Проще всего добираться на автомобиле из Лимассола по трассе B8 или из Никосии по трассе B9. Дорога занимает около часа. От деревни Троодос следует повернуть на запад по указателю.

 
Другие зимние занятия

Троодос зимой – это далеко не только лыжи. Даже тем, кто не катается, здесь есть чем заняться. Многие жители Кипра признаются, что за годы жизни на острове успевают соскучиться по снегу. Возможность просто выйти и поиграть в снежки, пройтись по заснеженному лесу или покататься на санках становится настоящим удовольствием. Санки можно привезти с собой или взять напрокат, а детям такие поездки запоминаются особенно ярко.

После прогулок по снегу особенно ценится уют. Отели в горных деревнях пользуются огромной популярностью. Такой формат отдыха очень любят сами киприоты, поэтому бронировать жильё лучше заранее – минимум за три недели, а лучше за месяц.

Любителям прогулок стоит знать, что вокруг Троодоса проложено множество пешеходных троп с обзорными площадками и природными достопримечательностями. Между Платресом и Троодосом находится водопад Каледония – один из самых красивых и полноводных на острове зимой. Ближе к Платресу расположен водопад Милломерис, который летом кажется скромным, а зимой производит сильное впечатление. Кроме того, в высокогорье много старинных храмов, хвойных лесов и тихих маршрутов для неспешных прогулок.

 

Кто испортил трассу?

При этом горнолыжный курорт остаётся уязвимым к человеческому фактору. Так, 15 января этого года склон Sun Valley I Aphrodite был закрыт всего через сутки после открытия из-за серьёзных повреждений. В ночь с 14 на 15 января неизвестные въехали на него на полноприводных автомобилях, сломали ограждения и испортили снежное покрытие, сделав его непригодным для катания.

По данным метеорологической платформы Kitas Weather, подобные инциденты часто происходят в начале сезона, когда высота снега ещё не мешает движению машин вне дорог. В результате трасса закрыта и останется таковой до дальнейшего уведомления. Лыжники могут пользоваться лишь семейной трассой для начинающих и детским спуском, а подъёмник на северной стороне открыт только для прогулок и любования видами.

Троодос зимой – это, конечно, не альпийский курорт. Это небольшое, хрупкое, но очень живое зимнее пространство в Средиземноморье. Именно в этом его особая ценность.

severed from these Terms. The remainder of these Terms will be binding on you.
