Темный туризм – места на Кипре

Немецкий блогер и путешественник Петер Хоенхаус, который известен своим увлечением темным туризмом, посетил Кипр. В какие места, связанные с мрачными событиями истории острова, он решил отправиться?

По мнению Петера Хоенхауса, для любителей темного туризма на Кипре могут быть интересны:
– захоронения в тюрьме Никосии,
– Музей национальной борьбы,
– концентрационные лагеря, где держали членов организации ЭОКА,
– Красное озеро недалеко от шахты Мицеро, связанное с преступлениями серийного убийцы Никоса Метаксаса.

«Как направление для темного туризма Кипр, возможно, не стоит на одном уровне с Польшей или Германией. Но у него тоже есть свои страницы темной истории, даже если они не так хорошо известны, – говорит путешественник. – Концентрационные лагеря в Полеми и Коккинотримифии, например, где британцы заточали в тюрьму членов организации ЭОКА в 1950-х годах. Или могилы заключенных в тюрьме Никосии, где члены ЭОКА были казнены и тайно похоронены. Конечно, есть Зеленая линия и легендарный город-призрак Вароша».

Местом, которое вызвало у него самые сильные чувства, оказалась заброшенная шахта близ Мицеро. «Я вошел в кромешно темный шахтный туннель и исследовал его до самого конца. Это было похоже на приключение», – говорит он.

Поездка в Музей национальной борьбы в Никосии и его турецкий аналог на оккупированных территориях также вызвала у темного туриста сильные эмоции. «Я заметил, насколько эти места пропитаны противоположными идеологиями, и это меня немного встревожило. В северных районах турецкое вторжение преподносится как освобождение, в южных воспринимается как незаконная оккупация», – рассказывает Петер.

Туризм – одна из ключевых сфер для Кипра. Однако его «темной» стороне практически не уделяют внимания.

Что такое темный туризм

Темным туризмом называют посещение мест, связанных с мрачными событиями человеческой истории: войнами, катастрофами, пытками, геноцидом, казнями и так далее. Вот как объясняет данное увлечение 59-летний Петер Хоенхаус, который прославился заметками о посещении темных мест и атласом темного туризма.

По его словам, в этом есть нечто большее, чем праздное любопытство. «Для меня темный туризм чем-то похож на паломничество, – признается он. – Речь идет о том, чтобы отдать дань уважения жертвам. Существует огромная разница между тем, чтобы читать о месте и произошедших там событиях, сидя в кресле, и осмотреть его в реальности лично. Такие визиты не всегда поднимают настроение, но по-своему тоже приносят удовлетворение. И, безусловно, расширяют кругозор человека».

Темный атлас Хоенхауса

За последние годы уроженец Германии посетил более 900 мрачных мест – от лагеря Освенцим до Чернобыльской зоны отчуждения. Он видел заброшенные поселения по добыче алмазов в Намибии и законсервированный поселок Пирамида на острове Западный Шпицберген, парижские катакомбы и могилу Наполеона Бонапарта на острове Святой Елены. Он посетил Алькатрас, Хиросиму и реку Кхвэяй.

Путешественник очень недоволен тем, как темный туризм преподносят в СМИ. «Его часто изображают как почти что вуайеристское занятие. Но на самом деле, что может быть неэтичного или вуайеристского в посещении, скажем, мемориала концентрационного лагеря? Мемориал существует там для того, чтобы его посещали! Я считаю, что темный туризм по своей сути – хорошее противоядие от известной закономерности. Она гласит, что те, кто забывают прошлое, обречены его повторять. Это антитеза эскапизму, к тому же очень познавательная, – говорит Петер. – В таком мрачном месте как Освенцим вы обнаруживаете, насколько вас ошеломляет весь масштаб произошедшего».

Хоенхаус также был глубоко поражен во время посещения Чернобыльской зоны отчуждения. Она обладает «уникальной особенностью перенести вас во времени»: одновременно назад в советское прошлое и вперед в антиутопическое постцивилизационное будущее.

Место, впечатления от которого преследуют его по сей день, – это мемориал геноцида в руандийском селе Мурамби. Тела жертв резни были эксгумированы из братской могилы, покрыты белой известью и выставлены на всеобщее обозрение. «Мемориал в первую очередь направлен на противодействие отрицанию геноцида, поэтому ориентирован на местных жителей, – объясняет Петер. – Но для западного человека это довольно шокирующий опыт, почти непосильный для восприятия».

Несмотря на множество негативных эмоций, связанных с этим видом туризма, Хоенхаус продолжает свои путешествия. Намечается поездка на Тайвань – одно из двух или трех направлений, которые он обычно посещает каждый год.

Еще он мечтает однажды попасть на затонувший «Титаник», что стало бы для него вершиной карьеры.

    1            Application of terms

    Underlying System means any network, system, software, data or material that underlies or is connected to the Website

    You means you or, if clause 1.1b applies, both you and the other person on whose behalf you are acting.

     

    4            Your obligations

    4.1        You must provide true, current and complete information in your dealings with us and must promptly update that information as required so that the

    information remains true, current and complete.

    4.2        You must:

    a not act in a way, or use or introduce anything (including any virus, worm, Trojan horse, timebomb, keystroke logger, spyware or other similar feature) that in any way compromises, or may compromise, the Website or any Underlying System, or otherwise attempt to damage or interfere with the Website or any Underlying System; and

    b unless with our agreement, access the Website via standard web browsers only and not by any other method. Other methods include scraping, deep-linking, harvesting, data mining, use of a robot or spider, automation, or any similar data gathering, extraction or monitoring method.

    Each party submits to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of the Republic of Cyprus in relation to any dispute connected with these Terms or the

    10.3      For us to waive a right under these Terms, the waiver must be in writing.

    10.4      Clauses which, by their nature, are intended to survive termination of these Terms, including clauses 5, 6, 7, 10.1, continue in force.

    10.5      If any part or provision of these Terms is or becomes illegal, unenforceable, or invalid, that part or provision is deemed to be modified to the extent

    required to remedy the illegality, unenforceability or invalidity. If a modification is not possible, the part or provision must be treated for all purposes as

    severed from these Terms. The remainder of these Terms will be binding on you.

    10.6      These Terms set out everything agreed by the parties relating to your use of the Website and supersede and cancel anything discussed, exchanged or

    agreed prior to you agreeing to these Terms. The parties have not relied on any representation, warranty or agreement relating to the Website that is not

    expressly set out in the Terms, and no such representation, warranty or agreement has any effect from the date you agreed to these Terms.
