Как Гагарин связал Кипр и СССР

12 апреля – Международный день полета человека в космос. Для Кипра он имеет свое, душевное, значение, связанное с тем самым человеком – первым космонавтом Юрием Гагариным.

12 апреля 1961 года состоялся первый полет человека в космос. Старший лейтенант ВВС СССР Юрий Алексеевич Гагарин облетел Землю на космическом корабле «Восток». Помимо очевидно огромного значения события для всего мира, которое стало началом космической эры человечества, этот исторический момент украсила личность самого космонавта, его феноменальное обаяние. И для Кипра космонавт Гагарин – особый человек.

Память о Гагарине на Кипре

Памяти Юрия Гагарина в республике посвящено несколько топонимов. Две улицы в Лимассоле названы в его честь: первая находится в центре города, вторая – в районе Агиос Афанасиос. Также улица Гагарина есть в Айя-Напе.

«Как-то я гулял по городу и вдруг увидел название Gagarin Street. Это было так неожиданно для Кипра! Мне захотелось изобразить великого человека на одноименной улице», – рассказывал в интервью «Вестнику Кипра» еще в 2019 году мастер граффити Ахиллеас Михаилидис. Он – автор огромного портрета первого космонавта на одном из домов Айя-Напы на улице Гагарина.

«Портрет Юрия Гагарина на одноименной улице в Айа-Напе стал символом дружбы двух государств. При этом замысел абсолютно не связан с политикой. Гагарин – супергерой моего детства, воплощение мужества и силы духа», – рассказал художник.

Одно из главных мест притяжения в этот день – памятник Юрию Гагарину в центральном парке Никосии. Монумент был открыт 15 апреля 2013 года в честь 50-летия визита советского космонавта на Кипр (об этом подробнее ниже).

Скульптура в скафандре венчает устремленную ввысь беломраморную стелу, которая опирается на цилиндрическое основание. Выступавший на церемонии открытия мэр кипрской столицы Константинос Йоргаджис отметил, что «образ первого космонавта занимает особое место в истории человечества и символизирует прорыв в неведомое».

Бронзовый бюст работы заслуженного художника Российской Федерации Владимира Усова был передан в дар Республике Кипр и установлен рядом со зданием парламента и Национальным археологическим музеем. Проект был осуществлен при содействии представительства Россотрудничества, РАМС, Кипрского отделения Императорского Православного Палестинского общества и при финансовой поддержке Банка Москвы.

Также Юрий Алексеевич был избран почетным гражданином Лимассола и Фамагусты.

Визит космонавта – символ дружбы

В исторических свидетельствах о первом космонавте отражена память не только о полете человека в космос, но и о визите Гагарина на остров, который был отмечен очень сердечным приемом.

Ведь 108-минутный исторический полет 12 апреля 1961 года был только началом миссии Юрия Гагарина. После приземления началась огромная международная дипломатическая работа первого космонавта мира. Ему предстояло посетить с официальными визитами множество стран, в том числе и Республику Кипр.

15 февраля 1962 года Гагарин прибыл на Кипр. Тысячи людей вышли на улицы, чтобы встретить его. Софоклис Софокли, дипломат и публицист поделился своими воспоминаниями о визите Гагарина на Кипр в 1962 году.

«Однодневный визит Юрия Гагарина состоялся примерно через полтора года после провозглашения независимости Республики Кипр. На тот момент молодое кипрское государство только освободилось от британского колониализма, который длился с 1878 г. по 1960 г. Стоит отметить, что Советский Союз был первым государством в мире, который признал независимость Республики Кипр и установил с ней дипломатические отношения.

Юрий Гагарин прилетел утром 15 февраля 1962 г. из Афин, куда он совершил аналогичный визит накануне. Самолет с героем Советского Союза приземлился в аэропорту столицы Кипра – Никосии. Встреча была очень теплой и дружеской. Тысячи людей с самого утра занимали места вдоль дороги от аэропорта до центра города. Юрий Гагарин проехал этот путь в кабриолете в сопровождении длинного кортежа. Примечательно, что машина была предоставлена почетному гостю самим президентом страны. В этот день автомобиль был украшен двумя большими флагами – Республики Кипр и Советского Союза.

Киприоты приветствовали космонавта аплодисментами и лозунгами о кипрско-советской дружбе. Вся дорога длиной в десять километров была усеяна лепестками красных роз. Мне кажется, что в тот день были сорваны все розы на острове. Сам Юрий Гагарин отметил, что на тот момент это был самый теплый прием. Во время торжественного проезда космонавт приветствовал тысячи людей, вышедших на улицы, и дарил им свою незабываемую и добрую улыбку».

Этот день стал одним из самых ярких в истории Кипра. До 1960 года Кипр года был закрытой английской военной базой. Людей не выпускали отсюда за границу и не впускали на остров иностранцев. Поэтому для киприотов приезд первого космонавта Земли был тем более масштабным и значимым событием. Юрий Гагарин здесь имел беспрецедентную общественную поддержку. Во время своего визита Юрий Гагарин посетил Президентский дворец, где встречался с главой государства архиеписком Макариосом III, вице-президентом Фазилем Кучуком, министром иностранных дел Спиросом Киприану, председателем парламента Главкосом Клиридисом и другими официальными лицами. Космонавт вручил президенту свою книгу, посвященную первому полету человека в космос. После завершения встречи архиепископ Макариос на прощание осенил космонавта крестным знамением.

Во время пребывания на Кипре Юрия Алексеевича повсюду принимали как самого дорогого гостя. Гагарин выступал перед народом с балкона театра Rialto в Лимассоле. В Фамагусте первого космонавта избрали почетным гражданином и вручили символический ключ от города.

Гагарин посетил деревню Лиси и возложил венок к бюсту Григориса Авксентиу – одному из самых известных героев национально-освободительной борьбы кипрского народа против английских колонизаторов. Подробнее о противостоянии можно прочитать здесь.

По возвращении в столицу Гагарин был тепло принят турками-киприотами и выступил на многотысячном митинге, состоявшемся у здания их спортивного клуба.

Перед отлетом из Никосии 15 февраля Гагарин сказал: «Я буду очень счастлив, если мой визит будет способствовать укреплению кипро-советской дружбы».

    1            Application of terms

    You means you or, if clause 1.1b applies, both you and the other person on whose behalf you are acting.

     

    4            Your obligations

    4.1        You must provide true, current and complete information in your dealings with us and must promptly update that information as required so that the

    information remains true, current and complete.

    4.2        You must:

    a not act in a way, or use or introduce anything (including any virus, worm, Trojan horse, timebomb, keystroke logger, spyware or other similar feature) that in any way compromises, or may compromise, the Website or any Underlying System, or otherwise attempt to damage or interfere with the Website or any Underlying System; and

    b unless with our agreement, access the Website via standard web browsers only and not by any other method. Other methods include scraping, deep-linking, harvesting, data mining, use of a robot or spider, automation, or any similar data gathering, extraction or monitoring method.

    Republic of Cyprus.

    Each party submits to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of the Republic of Cyprus in relation to any dispute connected with these Terms or the

    Website.

    10.3      For us to waive a right under these Terms, the waiver must be in writing.

    10.4      Clauses which, by their nature, are intended to survive termination of these Terms, including clauses 5, 6, 7, 10.1, continue in force.

    10.5      If any part or provision of these Terms is or becomes illegal, unenforceable, or invalid, that part or provision is deemed to be modified to the extent

    required to remedy the illegality, unenforceability or invalidity. If a modification is not possible, the part or provision must be treated for all purposes as

    severed from these Terms. The remainder of these Terms will be binding on you.

    10.6      These Terms set out everything agreed by the parties relating to your use of the Website and supersede and cancel anything discussed, exchanged or

    agreed prior to you agreeing to these Terms. The parties have not relied on any representation, warranty or agreement relating to the Website that is not

    expressly set out in the Terms, and no such representation, warranty or agreement has any effect from the date you agreed to these Terms.
