Чек-лист на 2018 год

Для тех, кто решил, наконец, выучить иностранный язык

Вы из тех, кто каждый год под бой курантов загадывает «взяться за английский / вспомнить французский / освежить (вставьте свой иностранный язык)»? Почему же каждый год не получается? Давайте пройдемся по чек­-листу, который поможет, наконец, учиться плодотворно, а не хотеть учиться плодотворно.

ПОСТАВЬТЕ ПРАВИЛЬНУЮ ЦЕЛЬ. ПИСЬМЕННО

Кажется, все так просто и понятно – надо просто взять и выучить иностранный язык… Но что это значит? Какой иностранный язык вам нужен – для работы, путешествий, выступлений на публике или чтения? Нужен ли вам сленг или специфическая терминология? Не забывайте, вы больше не в школе, и можете сами составлять свою программу изучения. Так сделайте это – поставьте правильную цель, например, по принципу SMART. Что вы хотите «прокачать»? Возьмем для примера speaking skills – разговорные навыки.

Specific. Я научусь разговаривать с иностранцами и носителями языка на темы … (перечислите свои темы – не стоит учить слова про квантовую физику, если вы художник и планируете общение с коллегами).

Measurable. Чтобы научиться разговаривать, я буду говорить на языке семь дней в неделю хотя бы по пять минут (можно просто читать вслух тексты или стихи, скороговорки или песни) и два раза в неделю – с иностранцем или преподавателем.

Achievable. Семь раз по пять минут в неделю – реально, два раза в неделю с иностранцем или преподавателем – тоже вполне achievable.

Relevant. Вы часто путешествуете и действительно могли бы общаться с иностранцами, будь ваш язык получше. Так что, вы делаете то, что нужно для ваших целей, – разговариваете, а не концентрируете все свое внимание, например, на грамматике.

Time bound. По схеме семь раз в неделю по пять минут и два раза в неделю с иностранцем или преподавателем я наговорю 150 раз до 1 марта.

Это примерная схема, которую вы измените под себя. Главное – запишите свои цели. Эфемерная мечта «выучить язык» так и останется мечтой, если у вас нет четкого плана действий.

ДУМАЙТЕ О ТОМ, ЧТО ВАМ НРАВИТСЯ

Помните скучные уроки про London is the capital of Great Britain? Какой Лондон? Какая Британия? Где это и кто? И какая нам разница?.. Скучно.

Сделайте занятия языком приятными – свяжите их с тем, что вам нравится. Найдите иностранные ресурсы на тему вашего хобби, запишитесь на онлайн-курс на иностранном языке НЕ по языку, а, например, по мировой истории или кулинарии, если вам интересны эти темы.

Любимые сериалы, которые вы уже знаете наизусть, теперь смотрите в оригинале. Подпевайте любимым исполнителям. Познакомьтесь с иностранцами с интересами, схожими с вашими.

Не нравится писать? Учите наизусть! Не нравится учить наизусть? Пишите! Используйте в изучении языка песни, онлайн-игры, красиво оформленные материалы и цветные ручки, наклейки, вирусные видео, интересные приложения, анекдоты – все что угодно!

Удовольствие от процесса – залог того, что вы не бросите заниматься. Кому хочется бросать то, что приятно?

СДЕЛАЙТЕ ЗАНЯТИЯ РЕГУЛЯРНЫМИ

Еще раз: пять минут каждый день лучше, чем час в неделю.

Хорошая новость: иностранный язык – не рулетка и не лотерея, если заниматься и идти к цели (см. пункт «Ставим правильную цель»), вы до нее дойдете.
Плохая новость: если не идти к своей цели и не сделать занятия регулярными, то вы не только не выучите ничего нового, но и забудете старое.

НАЙДИТЕ КОМПАНИЮ

Правильное окружение – половина успеха.

Конечно, будет замечательно, если вокруг вас все учат иностранный язык, и вам всегда есть о чем поговорить – о языке. Но если такой компании нет, ищите ее по любому интересному вам критерию – любители определенного сериала, поклонники того или иного бизнес-тренера, бизнесмены, фанаты Стивена Кинга. Регистрируйтесь на соответствующих форумах, переписывайтесь на языке, общайтесь с теми, кто горит теми же идеями, что и вы. Только на иностранном языке.

НАЧНИТЕ ЖИТЬ НА ЯЗЫКЕ, А НЕ УЧИТЬ ЕГО

Если постоянно пытаться выделить специальное время под изучение иностранного языка, можно так никогда его и не дождаться. Или выкроить час на язык в состоянии жуткой усталости и без желания делать что-либо вообще…

Не ждите – начинайте жить на языке, а не учить его. Все гаджеты – на английском, от телефона до стиральной машинки; подписка на журнал на интересную тему и чтение авторов, которые пишут на интересующем вас языке, – в оригинале; просмотр сериалов на «вашем» языке опять же в оригинале; песни и подкасты в машине – снова на иностранном языке. Таким образом, вы не ищете специальное время для языка – вы и так смотрите сериал вечером, вы и так слушаете подкасты по дороге на работу.
Не учите язык, живите на нем!

СЛЕДИТЕ ЗА ПРОГРЕССОМ

Зачем еще нужна цель из первого пункта? Чтобы следить за прогрессом – если у вас нет четкой цели, как вам узнать, продвинулись ли вы куда-то?

Находите точку отсчета – количество слов в словарном запасе, количество разговоров на иностранном языке в месяц, количество прочитанных в оригинале книг и просмотренных в оригинале сериалов за год. А потом следите – получилось в этом месяце/году больше? Получилось придерживаться плана из первого пункта? Значит, прогресс неизбежен, и вы его увидите.

ДУМАЙТЕ О МОТИВАЦИИ

Сейчас модно искать (и находить) мотивацию, а я предлагаю принцип motivation follows action – делаем, а в процессе действия мотивация придет.

Не тратьте время на поиск мотивации – начинайте действовать по своему плану, уже в процессе найдете мотивацию. Тем более что для разных элементов языка (разговорный, письменный и т. д.) она может быть разной – просто хочется читать в оригинале любимого автора, предстоит переезд или командировка в страну изучаемого языка и так далее.

В любом случае, даже если мотивации нет – это не значит, что не надо ничего делать. Ставим таймер на пять минут и приступаем. Мотивация постепенно появится, а вот время не будет потеряно.

ВЫБЕРИТЕ УДОБНЫЕ ВАМ СПОСОБЫ

Снова о персонализации. Любите технику и пользуетесь приложениями? Ищите удобное по интересующему вас языку. Удобно писать ручкой и выделять важное маркерами?

Заведите тетрадь для изучения языка. Можно использовать рисунки для запоминания слов или выражений, схемами зарисовывать целые тексты – выбирать только вам. То, что вам удобно и нравится, запомнится лучше, плюс не захочется бросить.

ИСПОЛЬЗУЙТЕ СИЛУ МАЛЕНЬКИХ ШАГОВ

Да, пять минут языка в день – лучше, чем час в неделю. Или пять часов в месяц. Потому что иногда мы болеем, иногда аврал на работе, и именно тот час, который вы запланировали на язык, уходит на что-то еще. А пять минут в день есть у всех.

Кроме того, что вы действительно сделаете что-то за пять минут (главное – заранее составьте список таких мини-заданий для языка и держите его под рукой), вы еще и выработаете привычку постоянно учить язык.

ЧИТАЙТЕ ОКОЛОЯЗЫКОВУЮ ЛИТЕРАТУРУ

Смотрите новости на «вашем» языке – так вы получите не только несколько слов в ваш словарный запас, но еще и иностранный взгляд на мировые события. Читайте историю той страны, язык которой изучаете. Изучайте научно-популярную литературу, посвященную работе мозга, обучению, памяти, полиглотам и языкам в целом.

Иностранный язык – это не только грамматика + словарь. Не упускайте остальные очень интересные области.

ВЕРЬТЕ В СЕБЯ

Самое главное – верьте в себя. Ставьте цель, идите к ней, учите язык с удовольствием, у вас все получится, прямо в 2018 году!

    1            Application of terms

    1.1        These Terms apply to your use of the Website. By accessing and using the Website:

    3            Definitions

    In these Terms:

    Terms means these terms and conditions titled Terms and conditions of use

    Underlying System means any network, system, software, data or material that underlies or is connected to the Website

    You means you or, if clause 1.1b applies, both you and the other person on whose behalf you are acting.

     

    4            Your obligations

    4.1        You must provide true, current and complete information in your dealings with us and must promptly update that information as required so that the

    information remains true, current and complete.

    4.2        You must:

    a not act in a way, or use or introduce anything (including any virus, worm, Trojan horse, timebomb, keystroke logger, spyware or other similar feature) that in any way compromises, or may compromise, the Website or any Underlying System, or otherwise attempt to damage or interfere with the Website or any Underlying System; and

    b unless with our agreement, access the Website via standard web browsers only and not by any other method. Other methods include scraping, deep-linking, harvesting, data mining, use of a robot or spider, automation, or any similar data gathering, extraction or monitoring method.

    4.3 You indemnify us against all Loss we suffer or incur as a direct or indirect result of your failure to comply with these Terms.

    10.2      These Terms, and any dispute relating to these Terms or the Website, are governed by and must be interpreted in accordance with the laws of the

    Republic of Cyprus.

    Each party submits to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of the Republic of Cyprus in relation to any dispute connected with these Terms or the

    Website.

    10.3      For us to waive a right under these Terms, the waiver must be in writing.

    10.4      Clauses which, by their nature, are intended to survive termination of these Terms, including clauses 5, 6, 7, 10.1, continue in force.

    10.5      If any part or provision of these Terms is or becomes illegal, unenforceable, or invalid, that part or provision is deemed to be modified to the extent

    required to remedy the illegality, unenforceability or invalidity. If a modification is not possible, the part or provision must be treated for all purposes as

    severed from these Terms. The remainder of these Terms will be binding on you.

    10.6      These Terms set out everything agreed by the parties relating to your use of the Website and supersede and cancel anything discussed, exchanged or

    agreed prior to you agreeing to these Terms. The parties have not relied on any representation, warranty or agreement relating to the Website that is not

    expressly set out in the Terms, and no such representation, warranty or agreement has any effect from the date you agreed to these Terms.
